Patricia Knott was born and raised in Kansas, and currently lives in St. George, Utah. Her interest in art began early with many childhood activities that encourage creativity, problem solving, and “making” things. Her love of process led her to a life of learning and exploration of various creative mediums from drawing, painting, and photography to quilting, sewing and knitting.
A creative aptitude served her well in a 30 year career as an educator in public schools. Since retiring, Patricia has focused her time and energy into becoming a full time studio artist. Her work can be described as layered textiles, using fabric, thread, and paint, as well as, photography and digital tools to produce stitched and layered images.
Her artworks have been exhibited locally at the St. George Art Museum, Red Cliffs Gallery, Arrowhead Gallery, and Kayenta Art Center, as well as inclusion in international and regional exhibits through the Studio Art Quilt Association (SAQA): Gastronomy (International Quilt Festival – Houston,TX), Bugmania (SAQA Virtual Online Exhibit), In All their Glory (Southern California/Nevada Regional – Poway Center for the Performing Arts, Poway, CA), and WILD!
